I have been thinking a lot about how deeply female representation in advertising and entertainment molded my way of feeling as a woman, how it conflicted me with my own existence and how then social media degraded even more my relationship with my body, my image, my features, my ancestors, my origin and also my environment… This video is an elaboration of that mess in order to heal.


Iris Saladino, musician and creative developer. She has been livecoding (music and visuals) for the last 4 years using open source programming languages and p2p systems to mix web technologies looking forward to finding new audiovisual aesthetics, sound controlled. She intends to overcome the contradictions of colonialism and capitalistic utilitarism by trying some strategies when designing her sets (updating regional aspects of her own culture, capturing social media sounds and participating in collective improvisations web based) and also producing local irl and digital events including collective performances and hacklab livecoding meetings. She has also been disclosing livecoding in tech meetups, academic events and travelling to different argentinian provinces to perform, teach and share livecoding technologies and values. She played at several local and international electronic art festivals like Mutek AR and ES, Domo Lleno, Piksel, Overkill, Network Music, among others.
